What happened: A new academic study published in MAHABBAH: Journal of Religion and Education examined how Nigeria's cashless policy has affected church income. Researchers surveyed 150 church leaders, administrators, and members across five Anglican parishes in Surulere Archdeaconry, Lagos.

The findings: 84% of respondents experienced disruptions in giving due to failed electronic transactions, poor network infrastructure, and digital illiteracy among members. Many churches reported lower consistency in tithes and offerings since the policy took effect.

Why it matters: This is the problem EqualFaith Worship was built to solve. Churches are losing giving not because members don't want to give, but because the tools are failing them. A single POS terminal or one transfer option isn't enough. Churches need multiple gateways, automatic records, and a system members can actually use.

The study recommends churches adopt POS terminals, mobile transfers, USSD codes, and proper digital giving platforms. The implication is clear: churches that don't adapt will keep losing income, while those that do will see more consistent giving and better records.
